Nobody likes a pimple, especially when it appears right before a big event. While many breakouts respond well to over-the-counter treatments, more severe forms of acne can be much harder to manage. When acne becomes deep, inflamed, and persistent, it may increase the likelihood of lasting scars if not properly cared for.
Most mild acne improves with a consistent skincare routine and appropriate treatment. Cystic acne, however, is more complex. It develops when pores become clogged with oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria, triggering inflammation deep beneath the skin's surface. The result is large, painful, pus-filled blemishes that can take longer to heal than typical pimples. Because of the depth of the inflammation, cystic acne is the form of acne most associated with permanent scarring.
Unfortunately, if you're a teenager or have a family history of severe acne, you're more likely to develop cystic acne. Hormonal changes, excess oil production, genetics, and bacteria trapped deep within the pores can all contribute to these stubborn breakouts. While cystic acne is most common on the face, it can also occur on the back, chest, shoulders, and other areas with higher oil production. Since these blemishes form deep within the skin, they often require more time to heal and are more likely to leave behind discoloration or scars, particularly if they are picked or squeezed.
So, how can you prevent this?
As with any blemishes and acne, it’s important to develop a daily skincare routine that includes washing your face in the morning and evening. That might incorporate soap and water or a more personalized skincare product that works best for you. It’s also important to try and keep your hands away from your face.
If you wear makeup, make sure your brushes are clean and if you use moisturizer or sunscreen, and be aware of the oils in the products. However, if you’re already in the middle of a breakout, we have just the trick.
Acne Control
Our Acne Control is the perfect solution when your skin flares up. This acne spot treatment combines the power of homeopathy with soothing essential oils to bring you a natural acne remedy that works systemically to help the body clear acne, pimples, zits, blackheads, back acne, and seborrhea naturally with our easy to use roll-on.
If you have tried everything in the book, it might be a good idea to see a dermatologist to get on a medicated acne treatment. Yet, if you are noticing your skin is clearing up, but now you’re left with deep rooted scars, what do you do?
How To Treat Acne Scars
First off, yes, scars can be removed and can eventually vanish if you use the right treatments. If you’re not already, make sure that you are using sunscreen. Sunscreen can help limit the contrast between unscarred skin and a scar. Some medicated creams, such as those containing azelaic acid or hydroxyl acids, might help too.
There are also options to have soft tissue fillers injected into your skin, steroid injections, laser therapy, and surgery. However, our natural Scar Control is one of our most popular products and is highly effective working time after time. It helps dissolve scar tissue safely and effectively while nourishing and moisturizing damaged skin. This formula also helps reduce scars from injury or surgery over time.
Healthy skin starts with what you choose to put on it.
